Steam games keep crashing!

Lately every time I try to launch a game, it will run normally until it gets to the start menu. When it gets to the start menu, it would say, [game].exe stopped working. i noticed it started doing this Dec. 18. Any new game I downloaded since then would work fine with no problem, but all my old games keep crashing. I tried everything as in, update drivers, verify cache, I tried reinstalling the games, and several other solutions online, but nothing works.

It's getting frustrating and I don't know what else to do. Does anything think this has anything to do with Steam, or is it just my PC?
I have a feeling it has something to do with my PC I just can't figure out the problem.
If anyone has any suggestions on what I can do to get my games working that would be very much appreciated.

I'm having the same freaking issue. I was playing Skyrim and after two hours of playing it just crashed, and every time I tried to restart it, it crashed. So I thought it was just skyrim. The next few days I bought fallout 4 and it played ok for 30 minutes, then had the same problem. Same problem with Just Cause 3 today. That's how I know it's not Bethesda. I've also tried updating graphics driver, but nothing is frikin working and I'm really upset I wasted $100!!!!!!

Dec 18 had a update so it is probobly a issue with the steam file you might have to wait untill another update comes out.

I have noticed that manny other people have the same issue and so I am thinking it is a steam issue not your computers

Okay here's my issue, I left my computer downloading games for 3 days i came back it was on sleep i woke it up most games were installed after a while steam kind of froze so i closed it but when i opened it again it would freeze when i finished putting the password after that it said i couldn't play online to check connection bla bla bla i fixed that problem, not entirely tho i have to click steam like 50 and run it has administrator but when im finally in online and i try to play a game the game crashes along with steam and most times while not even trying to play a game, What do i do?

You should try to reinstall the games over the current games

Give us a lot more information.

What antivirus do you have ?

What operating system is this on ?

Is this only Steam games that are affected ?

If you have Windows 10, did you upgrade to that OS from a older version of Windows ?

1. Currently no antivirus only windows defender.
2. Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz 3.07GHz
Installed Memory(RAM): 4.00 GB
System Type: 64-Bit Operating System, x64-Based proccesor
3. I currently don't have any other non-steam games installed.
4. Steam used to not let me go online, fixed that issue but not entirely has said on my previous post it takes a lot of time to load in to steam i'd say about 30 seconds and it could crash at any time no matter what i'm doing, it crashes instanly when i try to play any steam games, i used to be able to play the games yesterday, yesterday i also fixed the offline problem but today, the games crash steam and steam crashes more often it also takes a lot of clicking to open steam, I can only play the games when i'm on offline mode and well, after about 3 hours of playing The forest and changing to play Subnautica well i'm in subnautica and it crashed within about 10-30 min of play (Note i'm now playing in offline mode)

I have had the same issues where when I hit play the game I am playing would open and just show a black screen. After some time it would just say that the program has stopped working

Same problem here, suddenly the game crashes while playing and now i cant even seem to start some games . Any progress by one of you?
