Slow downloading

i average in at 430 kbps. But on speed test I am at 2.5 gb per second. My friend right across from my house has the same internet provider( TIme Warner Cable) and the same plan as me. Yet he has like 4 gb per second. W T F I tried alot of different download servers but I always fall lower than 430 kbps. Guanzhou, China is working at 430 kbps but i want to know why its so slow for me but not for him. I disable all internet for other sources except my computer, so its not my family leeching the internet for netflix.

I do not touch anything, is still downloading for days without problems, new computer win 7 pro, try to change many download locations in the last hours but nothing happen, now from nothing coming this "really slow" situation like mentioned above from other users

WTH!!! seriously slow download speed im getting 10kbps to 25kbps, not my internet its your problem STEAM!!! i want to play my games but cant cause it need to update!!! Whats your deal? ive done all that was told in the issues part and still nothing is working, reset YOUR modem

change the regional download thru the steam settings>Downloads tab>Download Region. the update finished w/o any probs. seems like the US (Update/DL) servers are having most of the probs. other regions are fine. i used Canada - Montreal for the finished update.

100% Valve issue. Apparently not prepared for their own summer sale. Servers are choking and not a damn thing any of us can do. Day 2 of this sale and the current sign reads

"0 days since we ♥♥♥♥ed up our own sale"

You have to try many different download regions. Try some very far away also, as in on the other side of the Earth if possible.

I have seen cases where all regions needed to be tried.
