A quick fix for this is to go into Sounds and set the HDMI output as the default Sound Device then relaunch the game or Steam.
Test Steam after changing the setting by launching in Big Picture mode.

Still don't know what was the issue though. I had the TV enabled as the default audio output source. Everything else produced audio but steam. I tried running Arkham Asylum on normal mode, had audio in the TV for the Rocksteady and Nvidia intros but not in-game. But, problem solved. Thanks again!
If you can't change audio channel in the game, it's the developers fault for not including options to force audiochannels. In that case, it's up to the developer.
I have the same problems with a few other games that have no decent audio configuration, the game decides what audio channel it prefers to use.
Disable and re-enable if you're switching between TV/regular audio channels. That's how you force ALL output to only use that one certain audio device.
Funny thing is, if i'm launching the game, then switching over to the TV as my screen, the sound stays on laptop and it's acting as if the TV speakers are still enabled to be the ones to do it,,
No idea, but you can check the game forums to see if anyone else has the same problems.

Nothing on the official forums. As for the #2, i'm convinced that the game is broken somehow. Everything is set up like it is supposed to be but only NBA is without any sound. Don't see how i'm the only one with that problem however, googled so much about it and no threads anywhere.
Edit: Very very strange... I have just again restart Steam and sound appeared..... At the moment is ok
To confirm, I've checked my Steam audio level in the mixer, that's fine. My TV is set to be the default audio device. My drivers are up to date. Some games work, others do not. The whole thing chaps my hide.
Two things.
First off, don't necro old threads. You might want to read the rules here at the very top of the main discussion page.
Next, there is a fix - it's in this very thread.
For the future, instead of necroing, make your own new thread and detail exactly what you've done and what specs are and everything. Don't just say "it doesn't work" because that tells us nothing,.
