permanently banned by a power hungry mod

i was banned by mod kurtis for saying the wild terra 2 was pay to win because the only way to get a 100% mount speed was from the pack they sell. (spamming false info.) i sent a ticket to steam support but they said they cant do anything bout it is there anythinf else i can do besides emailing the devs?

The devs / publishers of the game control their forums like that and you can only email them as you are told when this happens or respond to the ban message you get.

Steam lets them moderate their own forums and a quick look at your recent forum posts shows many reasons this can happen on other game forums if you keep it up.

if you feel a game hub moderator is abusing their power, contact that games developer, they are the one that decides who can moderate their game hub.

If the mod was appointed by the dev, then that's all you can do.

Well, the action might be draconian.

Moving forward you might consider this: Where is it written you can run amok and you'll get a warning first?

I'm not saying I agree with the actions, I'm just saying there's no particular reason to believe you're owed X number of warnings, followed by Y gradually increasingly severe moderation/bans. Having a zero tolerance policy towards certain antics may be harsh, it may not be something you can cry to some higher authority to overturn either.

At the end of the day your agreement with the mod may not be necessary for him or her to exercise their authority.

And finally, ignorance of the forum rules isn't usually a defense. Typically all one ends up doing is admitting they broke the forum rules and explaining they don't want to be punished for it.

The thing you need to remember is that you AGREE to their policing of the forums.

As stated game realted forums are run by mods the devs appoint. So they can vary in how they do things. but ultimately you are beholden to what they say.

All you can do is appeal the ban from the message you got.

If not, then all you can do is move on.


The one thing I would add is to NEVER ever make the mistake certain younger people tend to - that of puffing their chest out and thinking they can run up against the rules and fight onward. That is never going to end well.

Your best bet is, whether you think you were wrong or not, to look at how to avoid it in future. It doesn't matter if you agre with what they did, just avoid it.

and your ban/warning history does matter. bans and warnings are not per forum, it is for all the forums combined. if you have a history of bad behavior, then you should expect to be banned without warning first for even a minor infraction.

Your "review" is just you making the same claim and essentially blackmailing them with a negative review until you get what you want. Most of your post history (at least what I bothered to skim through) is innocuous, but that doesn't change the fact that some of what you said isn't and lends credence to the idea you got banned for your behavior.
