Partners Email account has been hacked, giving them access to Steam Account
Hi,

As above, my other half's email account was hacked, hell the whole PC was taken over, so all recovery will go through the hacked email, and we're pretty sure we're unable to get that back. How can I get the account back?

Secure your PC and recover your email account first.

Recover your Steam account:

Steam Support page about Account Recovery

You must be logged out of all accounts to start the account recovery process.

You don't need access to the email, phone or password currently tied to the hijacked/hacked/stolen/lost account for this to work. Just pick the "I do not have access..." or a similar option when asked.

The recovery process allows you to provide proof of ownership.

Not steam and valve corporation fault

When your email account is being hacked

--------

Gmail is under google

Hotmail and msn are under Microsoft

You aren't understanding... We're pretty sure we cannot get the email back. It's gmail. My other half had not enabled two factor. All recovery attempts bounce back. The email, in essence, is gone. She's still logged into Steam on her phone, but again, changing password would go back to her hacked email, and there's no 'person' contact on that email for security reasons.

Yes, we're having to recover -everything- tied to the account.

Using the guide in the first reply above, you don't need the email to recover the Steam Account.

The process to recover will ask for an email, but there is an option to state that you no longer have access to that email and to provide a current "good" email for them to contact you about recovering the account.
