Download speed decreasing

Hi everyone, i need help in one issue. In last 2 weeks, while i downloading a game, after 1 or 2 hours the download speed decresing to kbits. Normally i use max 24mbit/s internet connection and steam performs 22-23 mbit/s but after approximately 20gb downloading the speed falling down to 200-300 kbit/sn. I checked my speed via speedtest but everything normal. It repeated maybe 20 times. Restarting steam app is enough everytime to increase speed again. What can be wrong?

How long does it stay at 200~300 kilobits per second? Does the speed ever go back up on its own again?

It sounds like it might be a case of your ISP (or local gateway if you're in an e.g. college/Indian NAT-situation) throttling a long-running connection. Are you somewhere where 23Mbit/s is a lot?

I am having the same issue. I have 2 SSD and 1 large HDD. My starred library is 2nd SSD, the game is installed on 2nd SSD, there is enough space (50GB on 1st SSD, 70GB on 2nd SSD, 150GB on HDD) on all drives. I am patching a game on 2nd SSD, patch size is 4GB and steam decided to download the patch to HDD because when I open Task Manager, HDD activity is %100 during patching. Because of this steam stops downloading and waits for the HDD, resulting in my download speed starting high and then dropping to 0kbps.

Why steam started doing this I don't know. Also I couldn't find any option to change the cache location.

im having similiar problem, my downloanding speed goes at start up to 300 mbs after some seconds its falling to 100 mbps and then going 0 bps slowly going to 50 and then slowly going down to 0bps and its some type of cycle, i have tried changing cache writing, clearing cache in steam, nothing worked, i have 2 hdds and one ssd, but i cant do anything with ssd cause its only 111gb and i can install windows only on ssd so i have like 30 gb free space. Just to make everything clear i had other custom windows and steam worked fine but without reason it started doing this cycle thing while downloading. even after installing other custom windows ( better one ) its still doing the same thing, i have no clue how to fix this, its really dramatic fr cant do anything with this, installing 16 gb game for like 1 hour, on other launchers download is ok and speed test works normally

Same here. I havent change my ISP, just since a few months the game download speeds stops to a crawl near the 90% and before that is much slower than it used to be. I have 600MBPs fiber and waiting to download a game is a new one for me.
