Trying to understand reason for permanent Homeworld 3 ban
I asked a simple un-loaded question, and got permanently banned, for what appears to be a reason of not agreeing with DEI initiatives?

I am neither left nor right leaning - I simply want to know if the game has been influenced or not before making a purchase.

xxx

I am honestly not seeing the post being worthy of being banned, let alone permanently, or at all to be honest.

Here are the details.

-----
The ban message with reason:

You have been permanently banned from the Homeworld 3 Hub.
You were banned by a Homeworld 3 developer.
Reason: "Post is baiting support for racist and anti-DEI initiatives & general hate and controversy"

"Un-loaded question". Yeah, sure. Do you believe that yourself? Like, seriously, do you believe that yourself?

Not a single post either. Your post history is public, bruh. You're on a crusade, don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play innocent with that post history. Going on a crusade then playing innocent is a sure way to make yourself look like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ douche.

Yeah, i had to lol at that. That is a typical bait question by the "anti woke" mob.
The " i am just asking questions" approach.
A normal person would not even care about this topic in any shape or form.

Also, yes. The developers have 100% control over their forum hub on Steam and can enforce any rules/bans they see fit.

Yes.
The rest of your posting here is irrelevant.

[Edit:] Though strictly speaking, it's the publisher, not the developer.

Be cautious spamming the same question across multiple forums.

The game devs have complete power over their own hubs unless they request Valve to step in and do most of the work.
Your question just seems slightly off topic and unexpected though they wrote a different reason in the ban message. They 'could' have just deleted your comment with a warning, or temp bans of various lengths up to and including permanent, but jumping to perm for that doesn't seem right, but to them it was the right move. You'll have to appeal the ban by replying to the ban message itself. Hope you get someone reasonable to listen to your case, but honestly nobody replies and nobody reads anyone's message who does reply(at least that seems to be across all steam group hubs/forums).
Oh, and the message also says contact steam support. You should probably do that. Writing about it here on the general forums does nothing.

Hmm, alright.

I am fairly sure it said the Developer banned, not the publisher.

I raised to support. Was just looking for some feedback here is all.

Glad to see some people can reply without making assumptions.

Watch your tone.

Yes, I do believe what I wrote. People can ask a question without having an ulterior motive based on politics.

In my case, I simply dont want to buy products that have such influence.

If you believe it is wrong to simply ask this question and believe it is OK to let only 1 side speak and prevent anyone else from speaking freely on a topic, you are gravely mistaken.

DEI is currently the new developing hot term of a certain "crowd" after "CRT" and "WOKE".
About every 2 years they mix it up with a new term to latch on so its not too obvious they are just a bunch of bigots and racists.
New term, same old spiel. " I am concerned and i have questions".

Well you may claim that. You may believe that. No one is obligated to interpret your actions under your terms. And ultimately all you need to know is if you walk and talk like a duck, you can't get upset people treat you like a duck.

At any rate if you're that worried about DEI, why not refer your inquiries to whatever DEI concerned communities and echo chambers you prefer. Other people may not be inclined to play your game or otherwise entertain you, but they will. And you should just assume the answer to your question is yes unless your DEI concerned peers can provide you the soothing consensus you want.

This is a permanent ban.

It's pretty clearly stated. Clearly you don't agree or accept it, so claiming you're trying to understand is probably as disingenuous as your original post.

Enjoy your ban.

The answer's simple as they're in the terms you agreed to.

Valve run the main forums and moderate them, each dev or publisher operates their own ones.

So what they say goes. End of.

You seem incapable of separating the politics from the issue.

Not everyone concerned about forced influence in media is a racist or bigot.
