ELDEN RING VS STEAM URGENT HELP ME IM GOING HOLLOW

Hi everyone,

I'm pissed of right now! I even totally reset my computer and this bug keeps happening! I didnt play for some weeks, just bought the dlc it's coming in 3h and now elden ring is unplayable cause of steam!

For those who can't watch, so what's happening is that I can launch the game perfectly fine, I can load in with no problems, but when I'm ign steam is always making my pc go back on desktop, reloads itself, put me on the front page of the store. When I exit it, and go back in game, it takes 5s to do the same again! It goes back on desktop, load steam shop, I quit, reclick on elden ring and it keeps happening!

HELP PLEASE DLC IS IN 3H ♥♥♥ ME I DONT WANT TO W8 I VE BEEN FIGHTING TO NOT SPOIL MYSELF FOR THE LAST DAYS NOW I WANNA PLAY IT

Did you verify the game's cache?

I did before resetting my pc, didn't change anything

I'm going to retry now but I don't think it's going to fix it

If verifying doesn't work, then removing and re-downloading it is another thing to try too.

Also, make sure your drivers are up to date as well.

Beyond those, you can try posting in the Elden Ring game hub, in case others have the same/similar and someone may have a solution.

I did, I reinstalled steam, re downloaded ER, didn't work. I reset my whole windows, there is only steam and ER now on the pc, still doesn't work.

I can't seem to find anyone with my issue there, and my post is already drowned by inclusivity troll posts

thx for trying to help tho but imma headbutt my fcking pc if I can't fix that i have 3 hours to find a solution

So... already a victim of souls rage, before you even downloaded the game. They really are getting good at this.

Have you checked the error logs in windows?

I downloaded the game it's just steam that ♥♥♥♥♥ it up. Game is running fine.


I didn't check the crash logs cause it does not crash, it's like its doing an alt+tab own and double clicking on steam to go on the front page again

Seems more of a local issue, then with Steam it's self, imho.

Run a virus/malware scan?

I might do it but I don't think it's that either, I tried with dark souls 3 just before reinitialising the computer and it worked fine.

Check the controller configuration? Could be someone mapped something specifically to the game. Just a guess though.

Disable HW acceleration for web views and restart Steam

no problems with the controller confi, and disabling gpu acceleration for web doesn't work either.


I'm so pissed I won't be able to play the dlc, my last hope is that there is a fix coming with the dlc.

Other then that, updated all my drivers, no change at all. Steam keep opening & closing itself

Have you changed things regarding button layouts or something? Feels a bit as if it's alt-tabbing as you said, so possible that you accidentally are hitting a key or something.

Are you perhaps hitting the Windows key? I have it disabled because of such behaviour.

Didn't change a thing, and nothing else behaved like that. I tried dark souls 3 before resetting the computer, no problem at all.

It really is steam that constantly re launch itself, and I have no idea how that came to be. I did everything I could. Even the notepad (I play on laptop) is desactived. I'm so mad

UPDATE:

The full screen mode was the problem.

I had to struggle my way to the settings in game and put it in window mode, for now that seems to do the trick.
