Not a great deal, honestly. I bought Rage during the summer sale for, what, five or six bucks? Quake ONE was released in 1996. I'm waiting to see if that will go for less over the weekend.
It's also just weird that the event's bundle doesn't include any of the titles it got its namesake from. It's more like a "Bethesda Bundle" when I see Elder Scrolls stuff in there. Nothing wrong with that, but it's odd.
I believe that's where I had it. It seems likely that it was moved. I don't know if there's anything I can do about this.
I feel like the decrease in bundle/bundle value is a result of Steam's rapidly growing user base. Developers and publishers feel that offering a discount to more people is just more potentail loss in sales.
For perspective, imagine if you were giving away 10 copies of a 10 dollar game. Don't get me wrong, 100 bucks isn't just pocket change for most people, but that cost could be fit in to an average budget with a little effort.
Now imagine giving away 100 copies of a 10 dollar game. A cost of a thousand dollars is to much for most people to drop just to be generous. While you might consider giving away 10 copies, it's to much of a loss to give away such a large amount for free.
I'm not trying to compare bundle deals to giveaways, and I am aware that companies often profit from these sales more than they would on a normal day, but I think that this is the logic that some companies are following.
I don't think id even runs the Quakecon event anymore. If you took a look at the bundle, you would see some of the Doom games and...a bunch of Bethesda games. I think Bethesda wanted to just have some of their own games in the bundle and at the last minute were like "Oh ♥♥♥♥! We should include something from the people who actually started the event!" Seeing as Doom is the most popular id franchise, that's the coice they made.
