Game recording with instant replay
I'm looking to get a game recording software but I want something with instant replay type features. Sort of like on xbox one. I wanna be able to record just the last 15 seconds of my gameplay to files for when I notice something worth recording. (Like a double head splatter in chivalry). Any suggestions? I want quality software.

That is true but only if you have a Nvidia card and only from some types

Yeah, ShadowPlay is absolutely fantastic. I retrospectively capture stuff a lot with my GTX 770 (I have it set to 10 minutes, not 15 seconds!), but it requires one of these cards:

If you have one of those cards, just launch Nvidia Experience and you'll see how to set it up. :)
If you do not have one of that cards but do have a Nvidia and Nvidia Experience then you can make a link with
-shadowplay
To get it, but its much less stable like these :D:

Hey guys. I do not have an nvidia card. I'm an AMD user. AMD just came out with a dvr capability but it's still in beta and doesn't work with the games I want it to. I'm thinking of buying fraps but it's like $50... Does anyone know something cheaper or free I could try right now that has similar features?

OBS - https://obsproject.com/ Free
And to be honest i do not recommend Fraps, there better software today then it that do more then it for less system power and less storage

Also for 3600 Japanese Yen (abut 35.3907 US Dollar) you can get Dxtory, its only for games but i use it and i really like it, it has many features that are really good (like more then one Voice channel for easy editing)
Also there is bandicam that i heard is good but never try it my self yet for 39$ for one PC

So:
OBS
Price: Free
Link: https://obsproject.com/
bandicam
Price: 39$
Link: http://www.bandicam.com/
Dxtory
Price: 3600 JPY abut 35.3907 US Dollar
Link: http://exkode.com/dxtory-features-en.html
Cons: Only records games cant record desktop

If you need any help with any you can connect me freely :D:
Also please note that Dxtory and Bandicam have free versions so you can try that before you buy

OBS is simply streaming software, it will either stream to a specified service, or record to a file.

Now if you were to go online and stream to somewhere like Twitch, you could then use the twitch recordings as a type of instant replay.

So i'd have the manually sift through the recording and cut the clips I want right?

Hey. I really appreciate the excellent advice. I'll be looking around for some programs.

I made a video comparing FRAPS to Shadowplay. Shadowplay is part of the reason that I upgraded from my 560Ti SLI cars to my GTX 770. Shadowplay was worth it alone, but the video card is much better as well.
