Recurring payment charge?
hello I'm hoping someone can help. I paid for a game and the charge appeared on my account titled as a recurring payment and from what I'm able to tell this game doesn't have a subscription. So I'm thinking this may be a mistake.

It may well be. Your best bet is to ring your bank to check as only they can confirm such data.

Would help if you said the game and what the charge says. I mean if a game doesn't have a recurring subscription its not just going to accidentally start charging you. That has to be set up and configured.
"a game" has no subscription at this time.

Not since it went free to play.
its half life and half life 2 with a bunch of its DLC's.
Then no, it shouldn't have any recurring charges, as it's just 6 games all told that you bought.

Did you ring your bank to check, as they're the only ones you can verify this data with, and have them look further into it. You can check from Valve's end (via Support) but it's better to start with the bank because you can find out what has ACTUALLY happened to the cash beforehand. If you contact Valve first they might not have all the info.
how would I go about contacting steam directly/

You can't.

There is ONE and one only method of getting in contact with them - support ticket. You click on the Help menu at the very top of your UI, and you'll see Support listed. It'll take you to a series of filter questions, so read them CAREFULLY. Eventually it will end up with you being able to make a ticket.

But here's why I said it's probabl;y not worth contacting them over this - first you can check what payments have happened from Valve's end just by looking at your purchases in your Steam UI.
So waiting a few days for a response you can check within seconds and find yourself ain't worth it, in all probability.

This is why I said talk to your bank with that info. Any decent bank or operator can tell in an instant if a payment has failed or is incorrect. The issue lies if these ARE legitimate payments that all went through, but again, you'd be able to find that out from your Steam purchases in your UI.
