My Steam News won't load
Whenever I start my steam program on the PC, my steam news won't load. The windows opens, but all I can see is a black screen...and Steam Help doesn't even have anything about it...

Personally I think it's a server issue. I've seen it happening more since the Covid-19 outbreak.

A few hours ago when I went to View -> Update News, it would only show 1 pop-up of the 11. A few minutes ago it showed 4 of 11.

Same issue at the moment.
I only see 2 out of 16 (though it said 18 a minute ago, ?).
The only one I see is the Warhammer Total War free weekend (aired twice).

I have tried a few times, reloaded Steam...

Will try again later I guess.

Yup, all you can do is try later.

Your best solution is to try and think about what you plan to do on steam, and leave things like purchasing, store viewing and so on until the least people in your region are using steam.

Something may have gone wrong in the entirely of Steam News. If another server crash is suspected, then there is an error displaying this message...

There is no evidence of this. There is considerable evidence of the congestion though.

Have this as well. Previous times I can just go back and forward to make it load. Not anymore.

Again, congestion. All you can do is wait until less busy times.

Is there a way to see what news items I missed? I only got to see the last two out of eleven items when I started up the program. An alert for a free weekend for Rome Total War 2 and a steam release of Spongebob battle for bikini bottom. An odd release, that spongebob one, but I hear it's a fantastic game.

It's pretty easy.

Just got to the main store page and have a nose at the main items at the top of the page, and have a nose at the Specials further down.

This was broken in a recent update which had nothing to do with what happened in 2020.

Turn on, "gpu accelerated rendering in web views" in your Steam settings under the interface tab.

Or...

Valve fixed it in the beta. So,when they get around to updating the release version, you can turn it back off.

Enabling the GPU acceleration worked for me. Thanks a lot!
I also cleaned Web cache instead download cache, thas could have helped as well.
