Locked out of my account
So back 4 years ago I bought a steam account with CS:GO prime and a loyalty badge, and I have been using this account ever since, yesterday I got logged out of the account and my password wasn’t working, and the phone number and email were also changed and they managed to get through my steam guard some how. Let me note that the email was changed to the original one that made the account which I no longer have access to, anyways I contacted steam support gave them the last email used and last phone number while also providing a PayPal receipt and they refused to help me saying that I am not the one that created the account, I literally spent hundreds of dollars on my account and I can’t do anything about it, is there anything I can do?

did you make the steam account or did you buy a steam account? if you didnt ,make the account, its not your account and there is nothing you can do to get the account back.

if you made the account, you can recover it
Account Recovery
Make sure you are completely logged out of Steam before you start the recovery process

When doing an account recovery, do not try to rush thru the process. Trying to rush thru normally results in information being missed and time wasted. Take your time and read everything.

Here is a guide that another Steam user was kind enough to make. It will help you navigate your way thru the recovery process if you are having any problems.

they dont want the last email and phone number, the want the original and/or FIRST email and phone number on the account

just to be clear, buying/selling accounts is a violation of the SSA and steam does not recognize the transfer of ownership.

This is why you don't buy accounts. The original owner can recover the account when ever they want.

Buying account is a violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement. All accounts
owned by an individual can be terminated for doing it.

As I said above I bought the steam account and had full ownership for more than 4 years and nothing seemed off, how come I can't do anything about it when I literally spent hundreds of dollars on the account which was supposed to be "mine" just cause I wasn't the one who created it that means I lost all of the games I bought on the account, and all the community market items I bought?

you never had ownership, you only had access. this is between you and who ever you bought the account from. steam will not assist you in recovering the account.

I had access to the first email the account was on, I changed the email phone number and everything, I even had steam guard on that they somehow managed to get through and that still doesn't mean I had ownership?

what is not clear?

IF YOU DIDNT MAKE THE ACCOUNT YOU NEVER HAD OWNERSHIP

if I sold you an account and recovered it, it would not matter what you changed on the account. I would still be able to recover it. as far as steam is concerned, you stole the account.

No you CANNOT transfer ownership of an account.

Your Account, including any information pertaining to it (e.g.: contact information, billing information, Account history and Subscriptions, etc.), is strictly personal. You may therefore not sell or charge others for the right to use your Account, or otherwise transfer your Account, nor may you sell, charge others for the right to use, or transfer any Subscriptions other than if and as expressly permitted by this Agreement (including any Subscription Terms or Rules of Use) or as otherwise specifically permitted by Valve.

So in short you got scammed.

The seller of the account knew they could recover the account at any time and knew selling and buying accounts is not allowed so you would get no help.

Is there anything I can do here or should I just give up?

getting the account back, nothing you can do

dont buy accounts from people in the future, make your own accounts and only use your accounts.
Teksura Mar 11, 2024 @ 3:55pm
You bought a most likely stolen account, knowing that doing so is against the SSA. And you lost access to someone else's account when the original owner recovered their account.

Let's just be honest about what we're discussing here.

Can I refund what ever I bought on the account or that won't be possible?

You bought stuff for someone else's account. You can't request refunds for other people's accounts.
