Help redeeming $10 Gift Card in a Brazilian account

I won a $10 Gift Card giveaway, but I can't redeem it on my Brazilian account. Are dollar Gift Cards region/currency locked or could it be something else?

Steam Cards are currency locked now. So unless your account is in USD, you can't use a USD Steam Wallet Card. This was done due to combat scams and fraud.

Not sure about specific countries.

What error message are you getting, when trying to redeem it?

oh, I thought they were still global. that's probably the issue. anyways, this is the error message

They are currency locked to all countries that use USD on Steam, yes.

Brazil does not use USD on Steam, they use Reals and was not a part of the new South American region added in November that is allowed to use USD cards/codes.
