Slow download

My download on steam is slowed down to max 10 mbit/s while my internet is 400 mbit/s. I already tried unchecking those boxes, changing regions and nothing works. Any ideas?

Telekom? Disable IPv4 on your PC temporarily or use a VPN. They shakedown Steam to make them pay more money for peering.

Hetzner had the same issue until 2020 at which they gave in.

Check your network adapter settings. Only do it temporarily, not as a permanent solution, because you won't be reaching any services that don't support IPv6.

Also check your router and that you get a IPv6 address (which you should as the Telekom does Dual Stack. Do NOT disable IPv4 on your router though).

If that doesn't help, VPN is your only option. In that case, DISABLE IPv6 on your PC (same way you disable IPv4 - network adapter) or you will get a VPN leak.

My ethernet status says:
IPv4 Connectivity: Internet
IPv6 Conncetivity: No network access

And the disable button im pretty sure disables both but i have no idea

No, Telekom is the cause. Speeds are fine on E.ON Highspeed. I actually have both (E.ON at where i am at the weekend and as my host connection for my NAS, and Telekom where i work during the week). I had to use my fiber line as a VPN for my other place to solve the issue.

Yeah, then you don't have a router that supports IPv6 or IPv6 is disabled on your router. In that case, VPN is your only option.

Do you know any free vpn or are all of those a scam? I really dont wanna pay to download ♥♥♥♥ and how come it only started now? I have been on Telekom since i got this pc and never had problems with these download speeds

Unfortunately free VPNs won't help you because they usually suffer from congestion as well. I used NordVPN and Hidemyarse* in the past, but i don't want to give any direct recommendation.

*) use the three letter word with an a instead of the four letter word due to censorship

Then explain why i do get 100 MByte/s via E.ON directly and my normal VDSL speed when i use my E.ON connection as a VPN for it.

It started early-mid January. I wager it was an expired peering agreement that did not get renewed.

Because they either paid the bribe or still have ongoing peering agreements.

Telekom is at fault, no other ISP is affected.
