Steam won't connect except when using -tcp option
Hi all,

I am having connecting using Steam. Using the support pages I saw a suggestion to add -tcp to the Steam shortcut. This seams to be working, but why I do need to do this? How can I get it working normally on UDP and without this workaround?

First, bypass a router if you are using one and use ethernet ONLY to test your router as a possible cause, if using one of course.

I tried that as well and had the same issue.

Just did a quick search for "tcp". I would suggest that you maybe look at what others have found in troubleshooting this issue. Sorry if I did not help you but surely what others have given can hopefully help. Good luck and if I find anything specific, I will post it here later.

Thank you for the link. There are several threads explaining a similar problem to mine, but I could not find a solution while reading through.

Also, consider doing a reset of your modem to factory default conditions. I have seen cases where that can help when having connectivity issues. Don't simply power cycle it but use the tiny reset button instead, depending on your hardware that is.

I believe it is already at factory default conditions. I have never used any of the configuration options on the modem, only on my router.
