How do i take screenshots in games that don't allow you to take screenshots?

I am trying to take screenshots of a game i just bought...but it does not have steam overlay, and this method is a bit confusing..i tried to do it:

Ive made the folder, but it still won't let me take screenshots. Can someone help me please?

You don't take the screenshots with Steam, you just use the Printscreen key, paste it into Paint, and save it to the folder where a screenshot from Steam would normally go.

You said you made the folder already, so put them there.

After you put the screenshot and the thumbnail in the folders like the guide tells you, you may need to restart Steam before it will recognize the screenshots. Then go to your library and they should be there. I did it a while ago, coincidentally with the same game. As long as you put them in the right place and they use the correct format and filename like the guide explains, they should show up.

ok..i really appreciate the help FFL2and3rocks. Im going to try to restart my pc now, since restarting steam did not work. I also read in the comments if resetting steam does not work, try to restart your pc. UPDATED: Restarted my pc, and now it works..

Actually , i was not trying to take images of that game, just using it as a guide to see if i can do it for another game. Regardless, seemed to work, so thanks for the help again! If i could rank you rep up i would in steam!
