Do VAC bans show up on private profiles?
I want to check if a user has a VAC ban but the user has a private profile, are VAC bans displayed on private profiles?

Yes they do show on private profiles.

Unless they’re over 7 years years old. If they’re that old then they’re only visible to the account holder themselves but they’re still in effect.

Or in the xml, it always "shows" it's just not visible on the profile itself.

That is correct, but you can still see them, just add "?xml=1" to the profilelink and look for "<vacBanned>0/1</vacBanned>" or use steamrep or any of the other sites.

Yeah, but not everyone knows/uses that trick. Also, it’s hardly visible/obvious.

And this is one of those "you can't unhear it" moments that I love.

I always point out that the Beatles Strawberry Fields Forever join of the two different versions is smack on the 1 minute mark. Now I've told you, you will hear it forever!

So yeah, the more that now, the better, I guess. I certainly didn't, but I do now.

Me, I’m a techie. I point out the weird ways that technology doesn’t... behave. Lots of people clamour for cheaters to be IP banned. IP geolocation? Won’t work. Why?

Because I once posted on Facebook from my favourite cinema in Liverpool and it swore blind that I was in New York. Only wrong by three thousand miles and a lot of water.

Lol, I can dig that!

Living in rural Lincolnshire, my location frequently changes to whatever server it fancies - and it's either London, one of the suburbs, or somewhere "up north".

Never ever, Spalding in Lincolnshire. In fact, Facebook STILL lists Spalding as Norfolk, should you ever try to enter your address. Only off by two ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ counties.

Hi, is it possible to check if they have a game ban(not VAC) in this way, since VAC doesn't apply to some games?

Hard to say as no game ban can be 7 years old yet.
Check beck in the second half of 2022, maybe we know more at that point.

As Cathulhu said, only time will tell.
