New computer can't log into Steam

Setting up a new computer. It is running Windows 11.

I can't log into steam on the new machine. I've changed my password three times just to make sure I wasn't typing it wrong or something. I cannot sign in to the steam app either from my phone.

On the computer I've checked the firewall settings and Steam is check marked to be allowed to get past the firewall.

Any ideas?

IS your old pc disconnected and not used by anyone? You should be able to just install steam on your new pc without any issues. I did it and it worked fine for me. Only thing i can think of is that somehow your account got compromised and the phising people are somehow blocking it not installing on the new pc. Are you sure you downloaded the steam client from the correct site?

IF someone is using your old pc with steam on it, it is possible there using your steam account and that would cause this issue too. I hope you scrubbed your old pc or drilled your old pc hard drive or someone could steal info off the old pc to do bad things, like hijacking your steam account.

I installed Steam / CounterStrike:Source on a new machine about 8 months ago, and I was able to be logged into steam on both machines at once. I will try logging out of this machine and logging onto new one.... but it doesnt explain why I can't log into steam mobile app on my phone either. None the less, once this machine is finally done (very soon) the hard drive will be getting properly disposed of in the most extreme way possible ;)

Just not sure why the Steam Launcher on the new machine today is not letting me log in despite all Account name and password being correct.

So did you install those things on the new pc, or a pc from 8 months ago? Your post is confusing. If the pc is 8 months old, it is no longer new.

I purchased a new PC 8 months ago and installed CS:Source.
I also purchased a new PC a couple weeks ago.

PC from 8 months ago I had no problems installing steam and logging in.
PC Purchased a couple weeks ago is the one I am currently having trouble logging into.
I cannot log into steam app on my phone either.
