I talk out of experience, as many times products come with different formats, firmware etc.
Maybe try to talk with the seller, although do not get your hopes too high.
Cheap Chinese knockoff controllers are cheap and some are acceptable quality, but they mostly copy the Xbox firmware or internals. And not always well.
So you WILL likely get a load of grief where it doesn't work on all games or other weirdness.
Your best bet is to ask yourself what's most important to you - cost, or reliability or ease of use? Or something else?
Because if you want ease of use and reliability, I'd say to simply for a standard MS brand Xbox controller or a reputable officially recognised brand that's supported by MS.
Because you plug them in and they just work.
If you are looking at getting a proper MS Xbox controller, I'd recommend keeping an eye on their website in the run up to Xmas and just after as they often have offers on their store for their stuff. I got a controller with custom colours from their store at half price a couple of years ago.
Can you open the Steam overlay in each title & with the settings below, what face button mapping does each title end up with?
- Use Nintendo button layout = OFF
- Enable Steam Input for Switch Pro controllers = ON
- the Steam Input override for the games = 'Use default settings'
