Eyeballing the Football manager 2024 specs, and doing some rough compares of the hardware, he should be above the minimums. I mean I don't disagree try other games or less demanding games, it's good trouble shooting. But while the Chromebook in question is extremely low end, it may not matter because the minimum requirements of the game are even lower.

However other issues relating to compatibility may be the issue rather than it being a pure hardware not good enough issue.

OP is a novice and they've given themselves a multiple-pronged issue to try and resolve and aren't very willing to dot the i's and cross the t's. Like a lot of users they seem to be hoping someone has a magic wand to wave and fix their issue.
This is my first time using steam and such because I normally play on console. I have been looking for solutions for all most a week now, and the only thing I haven’t tried is asking the community. Steam support or football manager support offered no help wha so ever. I appreciate your help because I’m pretty clueless
The other poster said it, you've started with a multi-pronged issue. You may want to tone down the overall difficulty of what you're trying to solve and get started with a "real" PC. If it's about games first & foremost, may I recommend a Steam Deck? In theory, it got the same problems with Linux gaming as your Chromebook. In practice, games there work rather fine.

I’m not interested in buying a pc , just trying to see if what I got works, as it’s the only game I want to play

The idea is if the hardware was being used in a Windows based PC you may be able to run the game with fewer issues. But the chromebook is more than just its hardware. The ChromeOS controls the hardware and there may be fewer options for hardware configuration compared to Windows or similar custom built linux based systems.

So while the hardware may technically be able to run the game under certain configurations. It could be a combination of factors of the product itself that make it potentially incompatible. If the ChromeOS makes the hardware unusable for Proton or the game, that might explain it, for example.

So in short just saying the hardware is good enough is only part of the equation, because ultimately the question is can the product (your chromebook) run the game is a different question. And there's a few more variables to deal without outside the CPU/GPU/RAM.

Do I need beta in order to use steams Linux version?
Cathulhu 2023 年 12 月 4 日 上午 10:04
No. Steam has been officially available for Linux for over a decade now:

I would suggest: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/

If you wish to play on a Chromebook.

The Football Manager series is not available on Geforce Now. Which according to OP is the only game of interest to them.

Still, worth mentioning for someone using a Chromebook. They may fine others of interest that are on there.

I have tried even more things, but it still says my game is launching, although it isn’t and I remain in the menus
