steam downloads kill my wifi

so recently, i bought a bunch of games that were on sale. i installed a couple of them and they went normally, but when the download started for another game, the download speed just tanks down, and i gotta restart my pc for the wifi to work on it again. this only happened after downloading the other games (the whole half life franchise except alyx and left4dead 1) so idk why it just suddenly happened. i tried downloading a different game but the same tank happened, and its never happened to me before.

im using an imac so dont suggest windows solutions

wait how many kbps do i put in the thing? or am i using the wrong setting? cuz "limiting downloads" doesnt appear in settings

Play with it - do as you want.

It will simply take as much as you tell it. Handle what works for you.

As much as you want.

The thing is there's no clear answer as it entirely depends on YOUR setup and connection.

So play with it - heep dropping it down until you find a point where the downloads work quickly enough, but you are still able to do other things.

It's as simple as that.
