Because of these changes, it will take a couple of days longer as usual.

Are you sure it hasn't been closed? I just tried to refund a game a day ago and the request was closed? I didn't close it. No further details either. First game I tried to refund in like a year or so. 116 minutes of playtime.

That tends to happen if your account is compromised.

If you changed something recently, then you will simply have to wait. Support can't speed up the process.

Never rely on a refund to make a purchase, during a sale.

If you recently changed or resetted your password all refund requests will get delayed by 72 hours for a while.
So if its been only 10 hours you have to wait 62 more before your ticket will even enter the waiting line.

You always get a response from Steam Support.

If tickets are auto-closing it is a sign your account is compromised.

Do all the following NOW to secure your account.

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/

2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

3. Change passwords from a clean computer

4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

5. Revoke the API key at https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be NOTHING in the APIKEY)

Once you have followed all the steps listed re-submit refund request.

if you cancel the refund request, you will simply wind up at the back of the line waiting again. they will get to your refund request when they get to it, there are others in line ahead of you, this is one of the bigger sales events so there are a lot of tickets

Leave the refund alone as the date you submit it is locked. Time does not continue to tick as the refund policy is: WITHIN 2 weeks of purchase AND with LESS than 2 hours playtime.

When it says u have to have less than 2 hours of playtime does the time u play while they are processing ur refund count?

if the EXE for the game is running, the game is being played. that is what the 2 hours playtime means. if you submit a refund and then play the game while waiting, you are adding time to the clock and if you go over the 2 hour limit doing that, you will be denied a refund

if you are refunding a game, you uninstall it from your computer and stop playing it.

hey guys have the same problem here but I didnt change anything so why does it says that

UPD: I noticed that refunds takes longer than usulally a few months ago if before I was getting approval the same day I send the refund now it takes from 2-3 DAYS! or almost a week just for an approval. I thought it happend because I was doing a lot refunds in a short span of time
but when I read emails it all says this (sorry if there some mistakes english is not my native language)

also the first email where it says this was 4 months ago

Not entirely true on the 2 week and 2 hour limit. I got a refund for Spider-Man 2 after 3+ hours of gameplay and after having it for over 2 weeks. This was a month ago.

Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis. The standard refund limit is the 2 week / 2 hour, but Support can still grant refunds outside of those limits if they deem it acceptable to do so. It's just not a guarantee outside of the standard limits.
