Activity page no longer showing game purchases.
My Activity page no longer shows game purchases at all. Everything else that it is supposed to show is still there. The checkbox for purchases/pre-order new games bought under the activity settings is checked. Clearing cookies and logging in and out did not fix. This started after Steams last update (the one before the sale). I am aware of the whole private games thing on the beta but I am not running the Steam beta.

Activity page is completely blank for me. Seems like regular server issues to me.

One thing you can always count on: Valve acting like they've NEVER run a sale before this... the first day or two is always a horrific mess.

It was not displayed, so I returned it.

haven't been seeing new game activity in my feed in days now. even one i commented on earlier in the week is just totally gone from the feed and doesn't show in my library feed for that game either

even if it was the new privacy thing thats on a game to game basis isnt it? it wouldnt totally remove activity from everyone in your feed.

but yeah we know steam runs like ass when sales start but this has been going on since before today

I see game updates but not the games my friends or myself buy.

I also can only see friend/game/achievement updates on activity but my friends and I bought several games today and cannot see our purchases of them in our activity

Better, a lot of people buy games only to flex, this is a good move from Steam removing that "feature". Nobody cares.

Horrendous take, as per usual on these forums.

Just because your friends buy games to flex doesn't mean this is everyone's experience. A lot of times people on my feed will buy games that look interesting so I will check it out and see if its something I want to wishlist or not. If you don't want to see purchased games on your feed then I wholly support you having the ability to remove such things from view, but not at the cost of everyone else losing it as well.

Taking options away rather than allowing users to curate their own experience is always a terrible solution.

Not even 10% of users actually look at friends activity. You have the entire store to explore games lmao. Admit it, you guys like to show off and have your friends see what you buy. It's a clear example of being ostentatious or seeking attention.

Whatever, they'll probably enable it again since there must be some bug with the new private purchases feature.

I've noticed the same problem. My activity page appears normal but I haven't seen any steam purchases announced there since yesterday...including my own. I made an announcement there about this issue and successfully tagged the game I bought though so that worked fine.

When sales happen (and when they don't for that matter), I like seeing what different friends bought; clues me into games I wouldn't otherwise hear about. Made me worried that maybe the new privacy setting option update had perhaps changed things but the game is not marked as private and I never marked it as such.

I check my activity page every day, at least once a day (more often if I get achievements) and comment on stuff. :winter2019happysnowman:

Imagine your friends having such boring taste in games that you don't want to see them lol.

I like seeing them too because I can find good lesser known games that way. They probably disabled it to save bandwidth during the sale.

Noticed the same issue. Annoying since a couple of my acquaintances usually go ham on hidden gem purchases.
