Game Recording
Why is it a lot of games dont like being recorded? Seriously, last few weeks I have played over 5-6 different games and each one has had issues with being recorded? I played Echo from 2017, that would lose sound while being recorded, i would have to restart the game or my PC and it would work for a while, I played two other games, they would crash, and I was playing Daylight
another old game, and when recording the sound and music would be lost. I dont know if its just the game as i remember playing them without recording and it was fine.
I have tried different recorders to no avail. BANDICAM, OBS Studio, their all the same

It is not a problem of the game. But I don't know where the problem is.
Your hardware perhaps?
I find a lot of them like it when you launch the recording program in admin mode, especially before launching the game, or they might not capture. Else, that you may need to use the anticheat compatibility hook in some scenarios for the properties. Also, some may capture if you uncheck that setting. It varies per game.

recording to a separate drive other than the one the game is on also helps.

Maybe try Elgato.

Definitely, especially if its an HDD and the OS drive, there can be audio issues or audio sync issues. A lot of people also forget to set the audio channel to capture. Recording to a different drive is always recommended.

If OP is always having audio issues, I wonder if the CPU is capping out as well or if the settings are wrong overall.
I have been doing that with Bandicam running it in Admin Mode.

Bandicam does give me an option to save location so i save it to C:\my documents\bandicam

Well i am in the middle of putting together a new PC to purchase so hopefully that solves the issues, my current PCis 5-6 years old, and still works fine for games etc, its just recording i find they crash. I tried Hydrophobia (crash when record), Echo (same),
hopefully if i get a new gaming PC issue resolves

I'm no expert w/SSDs but I wonder then if could it be a configuration issue? Like, the read/write speed isn't syncing properly with the capture app?

I would mention Mirillis' Action! app, btw. I've had it for years, very lightweight & easy to use. Also comes w/a lifetime license option, which I like.
I like the free softwares. I have it installed on my D Drive (HDD) but the recordings are saved to my SSD (C Drive). If i play Undawn a newer game Bandicam is fine, if i play other games i think it causes them to crash
What the cpu usage is at, how much ram is being consumed or is otherwise remaining, how much total ram you have, ifnypyr got os capped oit or not.

These are all determining factors.

Recording software should be on thenOS drive.
Recordings should be to a dedicated drive.
Some games, like square enix games, tend to use licensed music. When you record them, they tend to have their music muted too. I noticed this myself when trying to do some stuff like this. I beleive licensing issues is why some games do not like being recorded.
Yes i have it installed on D Drive (HDD) and the save location is C My documents (SSD)
I use Bandicam Portable, I also tried other recorders. Sometimes it will cause the games to crash othertimes not. I wonder if its just the older games effected, because Undawn a newer game is fine with recording, bur games like Hydrophobia, Echo, the games crashed,

Hmm interesting. I did notce with Echo, that the music an sound would sometims cut out during recording, quite often, Hydrophobia also lost sound during recording too, if i quit both games, quit the recorder, relaunched it, and relaunced both games, they would be fine for a while, and i did run Bandicam portable in admin mode
