Family sharing
Hey. So ive set up family sharing the way youtube and steam have told me too and for some reason steam still wants me to "purchase" instead of borrow

Not all games support Family Library Sharing.

What game are you trying to share? Not all games support family sharing. The games publisher or developer can disable it. On Steam DB [steamdb.info] you can search for the game and in app info you can find if its excluded from family sharing

Aside from the game maybe not supporting Family Share, is the library in use by someone else at the time? Any game in it, not a specific one? If so, then you will not be able to borrow any games from the library until the other person gets off the game.

im trying to family share r6 i did buy the premium version though so i thought that might've been the problem

Rainbow Six Siege can not be shared due to third party DRM (Ubisoft Connect).
