cant re-enable in-game overlay

so my absolute dumb self has disabled the in-game overlay, and can't find a way to reenable it
every tutorial i've followed asks me to press the steam button in the top-left, but that does nothing

i've bypassed it to get to settings using big picture mode, but looking in those settings, there's no setting to enable or disable it. someone please help, i use it all the time.

Could you have turn it off on the game itself maybe, right click game properties

pretty much as Bubble Tea Bunny explan just one is for all games and other per game.

tried, the option is greyed out

The upper right corner of Steam there are icons Is one of them of three people?

If there is and it is green, then you have Steam View on. This will restrict access to the settings under "Steam" in the upper left.

try restart your steam :)

done that multiple times to no avail

You need to reset steam so overlay will work again

Try the steam flush cmd first, ( google it ) do have account logn / pw rdy.


Other crazy ideas clear download cache and
Delete web cache under steam setting ingame menu.

before you try last option
rename steam folder under user name at ( other use word like wipe or delete )
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Steam

steam. old
start steam did that help.

or make steamoverlay
GameOverlayUI.exe on exvception rules in antivirus app same with steam.exe

look in steam folder, do they say whats wrong here. ( maybe steam support want to know this )

GameOverlayUI.exe.log.last

Also reclick steamservice.exe
?:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin

To make sure steamservicie run under windows services.

or reinstall steam over current steam to fix whats wrong.
