How the heck to you actually contact Steam Support?
The dropdowns don't cover the problem.

They defer everything to "not us, contact someone else" for an issue that's CLEARLY a Steam issue.

There *has* to be a way to get a message to Steam Support directly, but there doesn't seem to be one.

Please, I'm not going into the technical details here. I don't need YAPG playing Mr. Obvious about diagnostics.

I know what's wrong. I just can't open a ticket with them to get it fixed.

All I'm asking for is a contact channel to Steam Support that doesn't just loop me through the same dropdowns that don't address the issue at hand.

Steam Support will offer an option to contact them with issues they actually can offer support for.
Issues with non-Valve games is under the "can't support" category.

What is the nature of your issue so we can either assist you directly, or guide you to where you can get support.

Depends on the specific issue that requires supports assistance.

:summercat2023:
Steam is holding open sockets that should have been released. It's a new issue (last two days or so). New server instances aren't registering with them. The *game* software hasn't changed (been on a stable version and no updates for a few months). This is a change on STEAM's end that has broken this process.
There's no path to get to them on this issue.

Mr. Obvious #1 from Yet Another Peanut Gallery.

I realize you're "just helping" but it isn't help to reply like this. I've been there, done that, clearly stated in my post.

I do love your name, though. My late kitty was named Cthulhu because . . . he was G-dlike.

Then this is the way how you can get the attention of Valve:
<scratch that>

And can the attitude if you want help.

I want help. I don't want folks telling me to do what I just said I already did. That isn't actually help.

I'm sure you can see that.
Given that there's no way to contact Steam to tell them about the issue, I suspect they don't know they've broken this.

That's what I'm looking for.

PLEASE read the OP.

I'm not looking for ANYTHING but ANY direct channel into Steam. I'll take a Business Office email if that's all there is.

I can see that.
I can also see the misdemeaning and condescending tone you use.

There is no channel other than the support system. People asking for EMail or even phone numbers have no idea that Steam isn't a small startup anymore that gets 5 support queries a week.

There is none. Only support tickets.

You can try here for Steam Client issues:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/

Though the best bet would be to post in the game's game hub. The developer's would have a better way to contact Valve if it is an issue on their side.

Another long shot would be:
Help > Steam Support > My Account > Data Related to Your Steam Account > Contact Support (At the bottom)

All support tickets go to the same people an they will sort it out, if they can even help with the issue.

Which "game" software?

There are ways to tell Steam about client issues. Via the Support pages is not one them.

Everyone has. But you're not accepting the answers they have for you.

There isn't. If there was, you'd be in a queue that would last for days while everyone else with a non-Support issue sat waiting for their own personal assistance.

If you want to report a bug with the client, go to the Steam Client Beta Group's Bug Reports forum:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/

Please make sure *you* read the pinned topic there about how to properly report a bug.

Wait about 20 minutes for a human response which may be troubleshooting steps for YOU to do which you've probably done already. Reply saying what you tried and what the results were(even though you mentioned it in the ticket) and the very next reply should be that they figured out what the issue is so they're going to contact the developer, but more likely they will just stop right there and ask you to figure it out.(thats happend a few times). If thats the case then go to the dev's website and email them and check out THEIR support forum(not the one on steam as you've probably exhausted that already).
Good luck.
