No smartphone

Hey I want to trade something without having this stupid 15 day hold, but I do not have a smartphone to get the app so what do I do??

Steam is just doing this to see how it goes. For now. You should get a phone and get steam guard.

You wait the 15 days.

If you can’t enable an Authenticator, Steam will hold the trade or Market sell listing for a period of 15 days so that you’ll have enough time to discover and cancel pending transactions if your account was compromised.

Use ANY phone number in conjunction with any app or device that will do steam mobile auth for you.

EXAMPLE 1: you use a iPad with your old Nokia phone's phone number. Steam texts you a code and you set up on your iPad.
EXAMPLE2: you download steam desktop authenticator and do it there.

So if I just use my kindle and my phone number it will send me text and I put it in that way

I Need SMS! Should I use Google Voice or Similar Online Services for SMS?
The Mobile Authenticator now requires an SMS phone number to register the app. Maybe you don't have one.

You might be tempted to use an online service like Google Voice to get an SMS number.

While this does work, as I have tested a Google Voice number with another account, I would advise EXTREME caution when doing so.

As you can see using an online service like Google Voice for your SMS may leave you vulnerable to hijacking despite having 2FA and an SMS phone number.

In other words BE VERY VERY CAREFUL if you use this route. You need to be super paranoid and cautious about stuff. Because a hijacker can attack you and steal your credentials and your SMS which is VERY bad

In the USA you can use services like Google Voice.

Outside of the USA you'll have to see if there are any similar services available

Ok, So I got the steam guard up and running thats all good now how do I remove the hold on my current trade

After you activate steam mobile auth, you have 3 day trade holds for a week before going instant trades.
