Did you recently upgrade or change to Windows 10 or did your computer come with Windows 10 already installed on it ?

Are you sure all device drivers are fully up to date for all your hardware in that computer ?

See the "preparing to launch" support page and all links in blue on it as well.

To add to what The Giving One said, if you recently upgraded and just installed over the old OS, you may need to verify the game cache for each game that won't start.

Follow this guide to do so:

What about my question/point concerning drivers ? Where did you download and therefore update/install all the device drivers for the hardware in that computer that are supported for Windows 10 ?

EDIT..Please also clarify if you have a 64 or 32 bit Windows 10. Thanks.

Also, post some games that you are having this issue with in your next reply.

all of my drivers are up to date. do you think it has to do with the XNA file in some games? Because when i try to reoair the xna it says failed to register... :/

Please see my edit above. What do you mean "XNA" file in some games ? Where is that file or those files located ?

You did not specifically answer my question, by the way.

useally in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GAME\_CommonRedist but not always

Sorry but I just looked and I don't see any "xna" files but maybe I am just not seeing them, and at any rate, why would you feel the need to "repair" those files ?

Gonna ask one more time, please...

Where did you get the drivers for all the hardware, including specifically the GPU and that are supported for Windows 10 ?

Please post some games that you have this issue with .Post the names in your next reply. Thanks.

Please clarify if you have a 32 or 64 bit Windows there. Thanks.

I few games wouldn't run for me after upgrade, setting them to run in compatability mode for my last os win7 worked.

1st) try

DISM Tool

DISM tool can be used to repair the windows files which may be a possible cause of this issue. This will also help in resolving other issues which we found in the log file of SFC scan. Please use the steps below to run DISM tool.
Press Windows key + X.
Click Command prompt (admin).
Copy the following commands one by one and paste them in the Command Prompt Window:
a. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
b. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

2nd) thing to do if above dont fix it
if you still get the below message then follow the below instructions for the fix...
!!!!Highly recmd. backup system 1st on this last option!!!

dism found corrupt store components and unable to repair finally fixed it!!!! 3-6-2016

1) Download windows media creation tool
2) in the bios disable secure boot (from option windows UEFI to option Other OS)
3) unplug all other hard drives
(ps.I got the 0x80073B92-0x20009 error when I had other drives pluged in)
4) Run windows media creation tool - this will reinstall windows 10
(choose the save user documents and aps option)
5) go to command promp (admin) and run "sfc /scan now" to verify corruption is gone.
6) in the bios enable secure boot (from option Other OS to option windows UEFI )

May as well post this since you are apparently not going to answer my other questions from before. Thanks and good luck to you.
