PS3 controller on PC?
I'm not sure if a PS3 controller will work for my PC. I know that they work for Macs, but I have only seen XBox controllers used on a PC. We do not own any XBox controllers, but we do have a PS3. We only have wireless controllers, and I'm not sure if they have to be wired or not. Thanks!

It works with the PC but it doesn't have driver support from Sony AFAIK. I've got the impression Sony promised PC support for the DS4 but I don't think they have delivered.

I have the DS4 and use that with DS4Windows but InputMapper also work, I feel DS4Windows work better but maybe the other have more functionality?
I also connect it wirelessly with a $4.5 bluetooth dongle from DX, I had to try to hook it together lots of times before it was willing to connect, but I've never owned a Sony Playstation so I also have no idea how to actually handle the controller to tell it to identify itself I guess. Also my such identification was done when using InputMapper if that make a difference, I think the program launched was a Microsoft one though.

I don't know whatever my software works with the DS4, I know others do and yes using those the DS3 works with the PC. At-least DS4 uses bluetooth and maybe it has some input lag relative other controllers when hooked up wirelessly at-least.

Yes, but you will need to install third company softwares for the full support, not sure if it have any change on the Windows 10 though, didn't tried yet.

Most people will suggest Motioninjoy, I kinda perfer this later, seems much simple and without ad:

Get a CronusMAX - www.cronusmax.com. Those third party programs to make a DS3 emulate an Xinput controller are just a haven for malware in my experience. The cronusmax makes your PC think the DS3 or ds4 is a 360 controller so they both work in pretty much any game which supports a controller.

What? With their own driver? On Windows or on SteamOS? I think the Linux kernel and by extension SteamOS have it but normal Steam client on Windows?
If so are there a standard way so that whatever controller you have get the correct graphics in games automatically?

Where did you got it then to have that experience? I haven't noticed anything. I don't even run a non-Microsoft antivirus but I've done a scan with the 360 total security package.

Why would I get a $60 dongle when a $4.5 one do the work? The software got ads though but you don't need to look at it.

Would you need a Bluetooth dongle if your computer had integrated Bluetooth?

If the controller works together with it then I guess not and if it for whatever reason doesn't work with it then I guess you do need it :D
I guess there may be version differences or differences in what they support.
If it works it works and if it for whatever reason doesn't ..
