The good news is your account will always own the games, so when you update to a non ancient OS you will be able to play them, plus many steam games can be played without even needing steam running.
I recommend finding one of the other windows 7 depreciation threads and read up on why that's not going to happen.
Even if you voluntarily terminate your account, requesting such, you get no refunds on any game subscriptions.

We also agreed to "updated versions of the content and services" in such agreement.
You agreed to the terms when you made your account, there are free options such as Proton OS you can install.
So if you choose not to use them thats your choice but no refunds over it. This is the 5th time they've depreciated an OS, its not illegal and its standard across PC's, not just gaming.
Also, much like any software license agreement, we don't "own" anything here. You have an agreement to use the content and services or...............don't. Totally up to you do do voluntarily.

had you bothered to read the other threads, you would know your whine will do nothing. they dropped other OS's and people whined about it, nothing changed. those OS's got dropped. people made demands and got nothing. either up date to a supported OS or move on. your account will still be here when you finally decide to use a supported OS.
Microsoft themselves, ironically from your very statement in your OP, even cease support for older operating systems :
So it is ironic that you use this "argument" as the very entity you mention (Microsoft) themselves cease support for their older operating systems.
Same logic applies to Steam. Why would you hold a different standard from one to the other, in comparison, when they are really the same, exact thing ?
I used this guide.

I had stayed with windows 7 tried windows 10 many years ago rolled back to Windows 7 but decided to take the leap again and it was breeze. Everything in my desktop is exactly the same aside for a new task bar.. I have no stress now. Had no problems playing all my games.
Besides Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. The current version, 22H2, will be the final version of Windows 10, and all editions will remain in support with monthly security update releases through that date.
This change is required as core features in Steam rely on an embedded version of Google Chrome, which no longer functions on older versions of Windows. In addition, future versions of Steam will require Windows feature and security updates only present in Windows 10 and above.

As you can see, it even makes no sense for Valve to develop and give support for older operating systems. Hardly anyone is using them currently.
Sure, you can make the argument that it is because of this warning that Windows 7 and 8 will no longer be supported in the future.
But to be fair, this was not issued all that long ago, so the data is pretty consistent with those users before this recent warning of Windows 7 and 8 ending Support.

It YOUR responsibility to make sure your PC continues to meet the system requirement to run Steam.
If you don't like you are free to stop using Steam, but you are not entitled to a refund and you will not get one. You agreed to these terms when you made your Steam account.
