thou art an entitled git.. and thou needest to grow up. you don't always get what you want. and a company doesn't need to cater to you..
this would be like walmart closing a store in your area because it quit being profitable due to rampant crime.. you can't sue walmart themselves for closing that store. maybe you need to move to a better neighborhood
Well you can sure dream. None of that will happen even remotely and from all experiences with disliked updates in the past, Steam will just flatly ignore all complaints.
As they should honestly.
That section in the Steam Subscriber agreement about arbitration that nobody reads is probably worth reading now. There are other options than pure lawsuiting.
Are you trying to make everyone laugh with comedy here?
i'm with davidb11 on that ... NO that is unreasonable
having a proper legacy option to continue playing offline what you have on this system until it breaks or you change system is reasonable and should be in place
demanding steam nerver updates is crazy talk
this was expected at some point ... mid year in mid recession not the best time
but at some point it was going to happen
and yes at some point your pc will break or you will just want a new one
until such time offline legacy should run on your system it's the reasonable demand
and the fact it's not the steam plan is the issue
Why are you making up baseless accusations now?
It makes no sense.
Literally no one is actually this upset. LOL.
You must be doing this for a laugh.
Runs Steam just fine and plays any game within the hardware reqs... which, granted, isn't a lot.
Can it run Crysis?! :P
Jokes aside, other than the original Doom, what can that run?
Just about anything prior to 2012 and doesn't require a dedicated graphics card. As I said, not a lot but that is a limitation by hardware, not the OS. It will start a lot of other games, allowing me to farm cards, but that is limited as well. By hardware...
I have an ancient laptop around here somewhere, I think.
I haven't tried turning it on, but it is probably close to 20 years old.
I think it has Windows XP on it.
Honestly I should try to get window 10 running on my old Dell netbook for giggles
or you can just get your OS updated and not have any issues
No, "all the companies" don't' do that. There are many that dropped OS support previously and will in the future, and still require one to update.
Also, it looks like Valve's clarification on the matter wasn't posted here yet, so I'll add it.

Keep in mind that support is being dropped for Windows 7.8.8.1, but the client will still run on Windows 7, it just isn't guaranteed to do so and will not be fixed if an eventual update breaks it.

Then buy games from "all the companies".
