Laptop Games
Hi, my laptop is a ThinkPad V2KJVBA, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz with a Intel USD 620 running on windows 10 pro - and i have zero clue which games i can play on my laptop. i simply do not wanna buy a game and then later realize that i waisted the money. It may sounds stupid but can anyone suggests a game that i can play during my long train trips. Thank you for your help and have a great evening.

You will be very limited with the type of games you can play. Your processor speed is super low. Usually games, especially newer games require 2.5GHZ or faster. Some tips to consider:

#1. Avoid any game made after 2020. These probably for the most part will not work on your laptop.

#2. Always double check the minimum requirements on the store page. Pay special atttention to the processor speed as i said previously, this will effect how many games you can actually play. If the store page shows it as low as your processor speed, you can probably use at minimum.

#3. Steam actually does have a decent refund policly on games. Just make sure not to play the game very long. You will be able to tell if the game does not work right away usually. Also, you must play test the games right away, and not have them sit around in your library not tested, as this is bad.

Good luck!

NOTE: Also i would say your laptop was probably not made for gaming due to how low the processor speed is. I imagine this was probably a work laptop at some point.

Do that too much and you'll be hit with a warning for abuse. Keep doing that and they'll flat out revoke your rights to refunding.

Ive done it quite a bit and have yet to get a warning for abuse. Of course i do not do it all back to back. If that is how you get the warning then, i can understand why it would be considered abuse.

Your best bet would be to go out and buy a gaming laptop or desktop for your house if you really want to get into gaming. Be aware even the low end pc's at this point will be a big improvement over your work laptop. If in doubt though, always check the processor speed. This is a good way to gauge how good a newer pc can play any newer games. To compare, my old gaming pc could play up to 2.5 GHZ processor speed. MY current gaming pc goes up to 3.8 GHZ, and that is not even overclocked.

What you can try is use some canirunit sites. They're not reliably accurate, but can be used to get an indication of what is possible. Just Google "gamename + can i run it" and a few pop up. Use two or three of them and take the average result as a guideline.

Take into account that you might need to throw all settings to low.

The curators Hotsauce linked are a good start. And sometimes you just have to go with your gut feeling. I gamed on a potato laptop for years, eventually you get a knack for judging what does or does not work on your machine.

Those sites have viruses on them. I stopped using them when my virus scanner said i installed a trojan horse from installing the installer on "Canirunit".

As above poster suggested, use the links curator hotsauce recommended above. Those will help you alot. Have fun gaming and good luck!

Specifically are you looking for low priced ones versus high priced ones, or specifically for gaming? Are you on a budget versus can you spend alot?

One more suggestion: You can ask on here and people may help you specifically what kind of new laptop your looking for. There very knowledgeable about this kinda stuff on this forum.

https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/11/

Br very specific thought on what kind of laptop your looking for. For example, if you still want a work one that can play good games...or one that is low budget buy plays lots of games.

Honestly my knowledge of laptops is kinda lacking. I know more about desktops personally. I do know about specific things on all pc's, and why i seen your processor speed is super low.

Then you used other sites than me. The ones I used I simply had to input my specs on the website itself. No downloads.
