Guys I need your help my steam got hacked on the 8/4/2023(1 day ago) without me noticing, I dont ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ know how they hacked it or go the verification code from my email in order to get access. The hacker removed my friend list , I got various emails in Russian and Chinese with money transactions which I have no clue what they say and he sold my account to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ that hacked on Rust and got banned my Anti cheat and now I am Vac there, my steam accoutn has various games besides Rust which I play but having a VAC ♥♥♥♥♥ me up it means I cant play the game ever again, Steam support is terrible and they make it so difficult to contact them (cant even find how) Plz I need your help or an email where they can help me.

Phishing is the most likely cause, OP. When people get phished, they give out the account name, password and then active guard code. A bot quickly enters it and hijackers have access then. Ultimately 2FA is "just another code" that can be given away when getting phished. It's not a magical defense layer.

Have you secured your account? If not:

Not sure what you want to contact Steam Support about. You have a game ban, not a VAC ban. Steam Support cannot do anything about that, you could try to appeal the game ban with the Rust game developer. Items and/or funds won't be returned, per the item restoration policy listed in my quote. Check all account settings to ensure everything is again set in the language you wish it to be. Regarding your friends, you can use a site like Steamid to look up your historical friends and add them again.

Read my post, I explained it. Phishing, or a keylogger malware, but usually phishing. When you get phished, you give away the login name, password and then active guard code.

2FA isn't a magical shield.

OP, you unknowingly logged in through a bogus website

You fell victim into a phising attack

Hence why you should appeal the ban to the game developer to see if you can get it removed. You can always try.

Just got an answer from the developers they pretty much told me to ♥♥♥♥ off and they dont give a ♥♥♥♥ While I have spent hundreds of euros the last 6+ years on their game

Not completely unsurprising. "I got hijacked and the hijacker cheated" is a popular defense among cheaters. I can imagine they get enough of those.

Well maybe ask for proof of hacking or like WTF, My friend told me he saw me playing new World yesterday so Good to know they didnt just got me banned on Rust but they also sold the new world money

they don't need proof, most anticheats work on detection of cheat software or illegal modification of game files

I am saying at least hear me out for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ban appeal I got proof that my account got hacked. all my steam Items got SOLD for 0.07 euros to Russian/chinese accounts, multiple games not just Rust or New world. LIKE GIVE A ♥♥♥♥

Depends on the viewpoint, I guess. The account cheated, so the account got banned. It doesn't really matter which person was using the account.

Keep in mind that user evidence might not actually be as valuable as one thinks. One of the reasons Valve changed the item restoration policy to the current one is because asshats set up rings where they let other people log in on their account to look hijacked and get the items returned (well, duplicated).

Here is one reason that will not matter, even if the account was compromised and used to cheat :

Same logic applies to all types of bans, as cheaters figured out how to get around that a long time ago. It's easy to fake an account being hijacked (not hacked). Valve's database was not breached just so someone could use your account to cheat.

That would be like breaking into Fort Knox to steal a dollar bill.

Sorry for the double post, but I just checked that Dota 2 group you are in and saw red flags within seconds, such as "giveaways" and a "LINK REMOVED".

That is due to the link being known to be to a phishing site or scam site or other malicious site.

Granted that is from 2018, but it shows the core of the problem that causes this.
