Are there any MMOs with absolutely no microtransactions?
I'm talking not even a 1% xp boost. Not even cosmetic only.

Just pay for the game and the subscription. The end.

Not really. They have to do something to generate continous revenue to make operation of the game profitable.

I mean... subscription? That's how they used to generate continuous revenue. I guess such MMOs are now extinct.

What about plain & simple coop games? Payday 2, for example, got a lot of MMO hallmarks without boosters.

I might be wrong, as I don't play those a lot, but I think among the big ones, FF 14 is still pushing against the trend successfully, no?

I played it. It's fine. It has the grinding and levelling of MMOs. But not the open world, questing, fantasy setting, social elements.

I'm pretty sure FF 14 has microtransactions. I remember the game getting some flak cos you can pay to skip some story bits (realm reborn). That part of the game appears to be of very low quality. Instead of fixing it and costing them money, they instead made it skipable by making the players pay them.

I logged into my old RuneScape account a while back. Lootboxes everywhere. And you can get insane amounts of gold by buying subscriptions and selling them to other players. Literally turning real world money into in game money. I don't know how Old School RuneScape is. But at the same time I don't feel like abandoning my character I played for so long to start from scratch. Can't transfer to OSRS.

Nope, FF14 does have an in-game store with Microtransactions.

World of Warcraft is still the closest I can find these days, though they still have mounts and pets you can purchase.

Star Wars: The Old Republic would be second. They do have a free to play option, but also a subscription option. With the subscription you get many things already unlocked as well as cartel coins (500 a month) you can use to unlock others parts.

Sadly, those are the only two that come close. The days of subscription only MMOs is pretty much dead.

O'h, Ultima Online may still have a subscription only option, but I haven't checked on it in a very long time.

they are doing a good job of it, but still have a store with some things in it. At least none of it really feels required like in free to play MMOs.

Only know this. Buy the game and no single cent involved in-game content.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/394690/Tower_Unite/

Also VRChat and ChilloutVR games.

People didn't want to pay a subscription. People always want something else. People want their MMO and they don't want the developer to make money. So micro-transactions won.
The others reason they won is that people end up paying WAY more with those. Or rather, "micro"-transactions rake in way more money.

I wouldn't necessarily classify NMS as an MMO.
You are living in a fantasy world...
