Disk Read Error (external hard drive)
Hello, I have an external hard drive which has a steam library folder with games I used to play when this hard drive was installed to an old computer, I recently got a new computer and so I just plugged the hard drive with a hard drive enclosure, this allowed me to play all those old games after downloading the most recent updates.

However when I try to install a new game from scratch it always returns a Disk Read Error at the end of the installation when Steam verifies all the game files. In case I wans't too clear, Steam downloads all the games files, but it doesn't allow me to play because of Disk Read Error.

I already tried verifying game files, I also claimed ownership of the files and folders from that HDD through the HDD properties > security tab. I have no problem playing previously installed games on this HDD, but I can't play new games. Currently running Windows 10 Home.

only then will Steam be able to write to it. (Steam uses User level permissions if I am right to write tasks. I remember reading something about that at least.)
