Change Steam to English from American
I'd like help changing language settings on steam to English. I've selected this in the account preferences however it still says "store" and "cart" rather than shop & trolley etc. Also still seems to use US spelling. Could anyone guide me through the way to modify the client language files and/or update this in settings?

I don't think you can as that seems silly.

You know what they are and know how they work, so why would it need to be done?
So my language is silly? I'd like my children to access the account & now be subjected to incorrect spelling and terminology...
While I do think it's a bit unusual that Steam has regional versions of other languages (Latin American & Iberian Spanish, as well as Brazilian Portuguese & Euro Portuguese), it's really not that big of a deal...assuming of course this isn't a troll thread, which I'm pretty sure it is
Both American and British English are interchangeable; there's zero reason to support both.

In my language it says shop. Thats not my language. We dont have a word for a buy location inside a client. At least not one thats short enough for the tab.

Its english. Like store too.

If you locally use other words, your kids will use them. And they understand that button.

When the British influenced a language that has so many oddities and spelling variations you only have yourself to blame.

It's my language too as I'm British.

No I'm saying your claim is silly not the language.

And the sppeling isn't wrong. It's correct for America. You understand it so it's a bit of a moot point. It's not that Valve invented the langauge so I'm not sure why you're singling them out as being culprits when the whole internet has always been like this.

So sorry you don't like it, but I'm just telling you you're unlikely to see any such change because very very few other places do it either.

Are you insinuating that your children won't be able to know the difference as easily as you can?

Can you not extend us poor, besotted colonials the same courtesy?

And also that they can't on Steam but can everywhere else on the internet at large?

The gatekeeping is strong with that one.

Oh aye ;)
Confronting kids (and people in general) with the concept of a world out there, that world being different from your own neighborhood, is good for character development.

Commend such a feature. Will put some trust in this genuine request.
I prefer "enterpreneur" and "barrow".
