i mean, pretty much every 3D PC game released the last 15 years or so can be played in 4k or higher, thats one of the benefits of playing on PC and having a bunch of resolutions to choose from.

You could go to a website talking about the game. Most games have their own website and usually advertise stuff like this on the page. You would have to know the particular name of the game to do it though.

Yeah, plenty of games can be played in 4K, even CSGO, thing is, the textures wont "magically" change in 4K, those will remain the same. And honestly, it does not look that good with "ancient" textures.

I asked if there was a way to check if a game supports 4k resolution in the shop.

Since most games can run 4K, it is not necessary to give this indication.

Actually it is. If you look at the links cSg|mc-Hotsauce posted for the Pc Gaming Wiki you see that pretty much every single game in that thousands of games list supports 4k.
Most of them natively, rest of them with a small ini edit here and there.
Same goes for 8k . Its PC, if a 3D application supports different resolution you can get it to 4k or higher, one way or another.
Thats why a 4k tag would be useless since it applies to like 99% of titles.
Just because you find a handful of games with problems in high resolution does not negate the general rule that yes, if its a 3D engine game from the last 20 years or so it will support 4k in some form.
And thats conservative, i have gotten older games from before 2000 to run at 4k and higher.
