Big Picture Launches Non-Steam Games in Background

Exactly as title says. When I launch a non-steam game while in new Big Picture mode, it launches in the background, so I keep seeing steam but it doesn't focus on the game. I have to alt+tab to fix it. It's not major, but if I'm using only a controller it's kind of annoying to have to switch to mouse and keyboard just for this. Anyone knows a fix or a command line parameter I can add to shortcuts in order to have them focus automatically?

i thought they changed big picture mode recently? As for non-steam games, i don't think there supposed to work in big picture mode.

I have a number of non-steam games that worked just fine until the new big picture mode. Now, like OP mentioned, some of them launch in the background. Not the end of the world, but definitely a pain and a regression

Same exact issue. When they first pushed the new bpm to beta it was present and caused me to revert to the old bpm. Since they have recently made it the default for non beta I figured it was fixed. Evidently not. Nothing I’ve tried will take the foreground and as such it’s not useable remotely unless I want to get up and travel between the couch/bed and pc every time I load a game.

I have the same issue. On some gsmes, even I alt+tab to the game, big pictrue comes over it after a few seconds. Steam remote play becomes unusable because of this

Same here... added Sifu to steam and it starts in the background :-\

I am using playnite and I solved all the steam issues :)

Same issue, in fact it's affecting Steam games as well as Non-Steam games for me...
