Skrill Payment to Steam Wallet still says "pending"?
Usually the payment gets processed right away, but now it still says pending despite Steam taking the money already, on Skrill it says the payment was already processed.

What is wrong with Steam?

All you can do is wait. It happens sometimes, and it’s been a thing especially with Skrill payments since last week.

The transaction will either succeed or fail. If it fails, the money will be released back into your bank account. Note, this not a refund but a cancelled transaction, so it won’t show on your statement as one.

Thanks. Well, that's pretty annoying.

I did click "Go back to merchant" after paying with Skrill, maybe should have kept the window open. Don't think I did anything wrong in terms of payment process, so I'm pretty sure it's Steam's fault.

It’s usually an issue with the “clearance house” between Steam and Skrill. There’s nothing really either company can do about it.

And, yes, it’s super annoying though.

But how long is the wait supposed to be?

And is this issue temporary, if it's only been happening for the past week?

If the payment fails for whatever reason, should I attempt it again or what?

I asked Steam support but who knows when I'll get a reply.

It can take anywhere from between a few hours or a few days until the payment clears or fails.

Pending transactions aren’t new, but Skrill, iDeal and Paysafe are particularly prone to periods where multiple users will have an issue. This usually happens during sales but for the last week or so Skrill payments have been a bit finicky - could just be the Xmas season.

You should be fine attempting it again but if you want to be 100% certain, load your wallet and pay or use PayPal.

Nah this is one of the common issues when using a third party payment provider. You're essentially jumping through more hoops than if you just used a bank. Because of that the chance of errors goes up and then when that happens you get issues like yours - where the money gets in limbo for a time until it sorts out.
