Already forgot the name of it, but a friend of mine was bragging the other night about how he has been using it and got a $10 code from the program.

That's nice and all, but to me that's stealing. And some person who goes and buys a code in-store is going to end up getting some already used code.

Your friend is a liar. It is not possible to generate codes as they either a) have to be activated on a retail till as a two factor authorisation between the seller and Steam and b) it is a one in a billion shot that he could guess a code of a card in existence.

Also if a user attempts to persistently enter incorrect codes; their account gets locked for fraudulent activity. Don't be enticed by wild claims that could result in you putting your PC or account at risk.

There is no could. Any and all such programs, if they exist, are malware meant to steal something from your computer.
