Steam Games Crashing GPU on New Windows 10 PC
Hey folks, I just bought a new HP Envy 750, upgraded to Windows 10, updated every conceivable driver, restarted the computer, let the HP assistant update everything, etc. But my Steam games (XCOM 2, Wasteland 2, CSGO) all crash after only a few minutes of gameplay. I have verified the integrity of all the games and they all crash. My monitor loses signal and my audio cuts out soon afterwards. I have to power off my computer, and power it back on each time. I'm using an HDMI cable connected to an Acer monitor. So far I've not had this problem with Battle.net games.

Here are my specs:
Intel i7-4790k CPU 4.00 GHz quad 4
16 gb ram
64-bit OS
Nvidia GeForce GTX 970

I've tried absolutely everything I can think of, but HP's support site stinks and I am unable to find any other fixes. Has anyone else experienced something similar or found a solution to the problem?

Tried to install DX9? Many games, as XCOM2, won't normally run without it.

First question should be: Did those games run well before upgrading to win10?
Second thing: did you uninstall nvidia drivers properly? Use DDU to do it. Then download driver directly though Nvidia webpage and check if the issue is still present.
Mostly it looks like corrupted driver so do the steps above.

Steam auto-installed DX when I started those games. I have now performed a full system recovery (at the request of HP support) starting up in Windows 7, I am still experiencing the same issue. I've tried with different driver configurations, I've opened Steam as an admin and verified the file integrity, etc, etc. And as I mentioned, this is not a Steam-only issue. Heroes of the Storm in Battle.net had the same problem.

But apparently, you have not yet uninstalled that problematic antivirus program and rebooted. Afterwards, verifying the game files as I suggested above. That seems to be one thing you have not yet tried and for the life of me, I cannot understand why.

Go for the RMA then as it looks like the GPU core chip went bonekrs.
