Valve Games Aren't Launching [PENDING ISSUE]
Hello, so I've recently not been able to solve this problem and I'm not actually sure why it is even happening.

My Problem:

Whenever I want to play CS:GO Portal 2, or team fortress 2 (or any other valve games that have some file in common that won't cause it to), I launch it and it says that the game is going to launch, but the game never launches. It will appear with green border around my profile icon and everything and it still won't open or launch. It will appear that csgo.exe or portal2.exe is running in task manager, but then it will then close and set my profile back to 'online'.

What I have tried but have failed:

Validating game Cache. (Basically validating the files in the game to make sure it works, then it redownloads Microsoft DirectX)
Re-installed games (Removed all content from the games and re-downloaded everything, including all the files in the game. Still does not work)
Deleting all local content from both games folders files and starting new

If anyone has a fix to this bug please reply to this thread. I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit.

I will try all possible issues that seem logical in the comments of this issue. If they do not work, I will list them in the "What I have tried but have failed" section of this thread.

Here is some other information:
All my other games on Steam are currently working fine. No problems with anything and everything is running smoothly and normal with all of of my other games. It's just the games like CS:GO, and Portal 2 that will not launch.

I recall having some kind of issue like this in the past and was able to resolve it by checking out eventviewer for the error messages related. I had to reinstall my C+redist packages. Most of the time the game folders will have the installers you need. Just a thought anyway.. I really don't have a clue about any of it to be honest. I just recall something like this.

Thanks, I'll look into this and see, all the games came with in their files were direct X, which i've already tried re-installing using what it says. But thanks for the help dude.

Read this support page and check everything in blue also very carefully.

There is a help and tips forum for future knowledge for you, where you can usually get help on issues like this. This is the discussion forum and I doubt that you want to discuss anything , but instead want to get help on how to fix it.
