Deleted "common" Folder
Hello to all, i have been trying to install a couple of fonts and changes to my CS:GO game. Doing so i have replaced my common folder with another containing nothing. The problem is that i have NEVER saved a copy of the common folder and replacing it made it wipe the data completely off my computer. When i was trying to "Verify integrity of game cache", all it did was re-install my game. Now i have to re-install all of my games. I was hoping if anyone could help me recover my common folder or at least avoid having to re-install all of my games

If any of you could help that would be amazing

Cheers if you could

Open the "steamapps" folder. Right-click the common folder, choose "Properties". In the new window, go to the "Previous versions" tab. There may be a previous version you can restore to.

Is it in your trash bin on your desktop?

Unfortunately it's not in my bin, thank you habitualaction for replying. I have tried that and no luck, but thank you for helping!

You could try a file undeleter, such as Recuva:
https://www.piriform.com/recuva

This will help you recover files, if not already overwritten by other data. So it will depend on how you replaced the folder and how much usage the hard drive has had since then.

So wait...do what the good habitualaction suggested above but do it with your steamapps folder instead. Right click the steamapps folder and then properties and then previous versons. Maybe you did the "new common" folder that you made, and therefore there were no previous version of THAT folder. Just thinking here...
