Is it possible to re-lock achievements?
I want to play a game from scratch, so I want to re-lock all the achievements I've got. How can I do that?

You can use a thing called SAM which is technically against the rules but it is designed specifically for cases like yours so you can re-play a game from scratch or get rid of any achievements that popped up wrong. It has a bad reputation because some people use it to cheat and get achievements (it can unlock achievements too) but it is usually really obvious if you use it in the wrong way (all achievements unlock at once etc). It was made for all the good reasons and unfortunately is exploited by some folk that's all.

Some "achievement hunters" do use SAM to lock achievements that were unlocked.
The only problem would be if they use sites like Astats that track this and they are flagged, which also isn't a problem since you can appeal to them on their forums and they will lift it if everything looks legit. But if you don't use Astats, you have no problem.

You will not get banned.
Nobody has ever been banned because of it even though it is technically against the rules. It is made by the guy who made Idle Master and a lot of people use that too. Sure, Steam could just suddenly decide to ban everyone who uses Idle Master but probably not. Same with SAM.
Steam honestly doesn't care.

Just be mature and sensible about using it and you'll be fine. If you're worried, talk to other people who actually have used it before (in the right way). I haven't actually used it before but I have friends who have because of faulty achievements or because they wanted to play again with family. This is the main reason SAM was created in the first place.

WARNING: Do not have it on while you're playing multiplayer games connected to VAC secure servers. That goes for Idle Master too. Don't risk it because it can mistakenly think you're cheating even when you aren't. So log out completely and shut it down when you go play on VAC secure server multiplayer games. You can get VAC banned if you don't and that's basically the only type of ban someone using SAM has ever got before. But it isn't strictly because you were using SAM but because VAC thinks anything like SAM is a cheat (this isn't specifically a case just with SAM and a lot of things can trigger it).

Since SAM seems to have come up here as a point in this thread, I will post what I have showing there is no evidence that SAM will for sure cause a VAC ban. Like anything else, use it at your own risk.

SAM does NOT cause a VAC Ban

However, as far as the SSA goes, it can be considered as "cheating" as far as I am concerned but that is maybe just my opinion.

At the end of the day dfisek it really isn't that dramatic an issue unless you make it so. Do what you feel you're comfortable with and do your own research beforehand.

You got a link to the SAM program?
Redoing my FF games and think it's easier to keep track when all achevements are locked for the 100% completion at least in my opinion?
