Sytem Model : HP G62 Notebook PC

I would also be concerned with any BIOS issues that may be present from changing the OS as you have.
Only get those from the official manufacturer's webpage of the hardware. GPU drivers from AMD or Nvidia (don't see that in your specs, by the way).
EDIT..There seems to be different models of the G62 so you need to be sure you have the right model when searching for and getting drivers/BIOS files.
For example here is one model on HP but I don't know if this is your specific model or not. Posting that maybe would be a good idea if you will, please.

Ok, thanks. Now use that HP official site and enter your OS and computer model and download and install the drivers and check the BIOS issue I mentioned. Only update the BIOS if absolutely necessary but since you have Linux based, I would think that needs looking into.

Is that the right computer ?
You are installing the drivers "HOW" and from "WHERE" exactly ? I don't see Windows 8.1 drivers listed on HP, unless I linked the wrong computer.
Again, and I hope you will excuse me, where did you get the drivers and I am not talking about Windows update.
And what about the BIOS ?
You are welcome, but that is not a good idea, as you seem to understand now. You don't have Windows 7..you have Windows 8.1.
You could install Windows 7 perhaps, if you have a good Micorsoft product key. With all that has been done on that PC as of now (going from Linux based to W8.1 and then if you did that W7), I would consider reformatting and starting over because the only way to install an OS on a computer properly is to do so cleanly (reformat).
Not sure that dual boot is going to work either from Linux based to Windows because you are still using the same BIOS. Not sure why you keep ignoring what I am saying about the BIOS but I highly suggest that you look into that before you get into a big hurry and get further in trouble there. Just my suggestion is all.
There is a hardware and OS forum here where you can get help on that. This is not a Steam issue, I would say. It is an OS issue. That forum is your best bet then.
EDIT..Here is the forum...
