Final Fantasy X/X2 Remastered won't launch
I have recently purchased the remastered FFX and was super psyched to play it!

However, despite reinstalling it twice, checking for corrupted files aswell as running as administrator i was not able to get it to run!
Everytime I try to launch the game, it says that it is launching, but then nothing ever happens.
This is especially confusing since any other steam game launches without any problem.

I'm really sad about this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are your system specs? Do you get at least the Square Enix Launcher?

Please don't hesitate to ask if there are any more infos you need, as I'm sure I suck and didn't share close to enough yet.

We need a bit more information about your system specs, like your videocard.
The Giving One May 15, 2016 @ 9:08am
What is the operating system exactly ? I see 64 bit OS but not the version of Windows you have.
Also, he asked you if you get to the launcher, please.

Game booster. IS that by IOBit ? That may be a problem.

There are IOBit programs on the list of problematic software.

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289

"Other Applications"

IOBit Advance System Care
IOBit Start Menu 8

"Anti-Virus Applications "

Iobit Advanced System Care *

Sorry for posting this so quickly again since my last post.

I operate on Windows 7 and here are the rest of my specs: https://gyazo.com/1bcf563cdecc0e48b626a27218f0042b

No i do not get the launcher. I try launching the game and besides the game in the library showing "Running" for a couple of seconds, nothing happens.

I hadn't realised that GameBooster could be part of the problem, but it didn't work even after exiting the program, deactivating my antivirus program aswell as disableing my firewall.

What is the antivirus program ? Disabled is not the same as uninstalled. If you have any programs from this list whatsoever,

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289

Please do not fail to mention them specifically here.

I did not say that game booster was a problem. I said it "may" be a problem. You did not answer if it is related to IOBit, unless you have that as your antivirus program.
McMonkey May 15, 2016 @ 9:40am
I feel terrible for not being able to answer appropriately, please know that i appreciate your help immensely.

My antivirus program is "Avira Antivirus" and i dont run any specific firewall other than the windows one.
I checked, and GameBooster doesn't seem to be related to IOBit.

Please post a screenshot or shots of ALL of your installed programs. You can use this site imgur.com and post the links here for us to see all the programs.

Make sure we can see ALL of the programs that you have installed on that computer. Or you can use gyazo.com also if you wish.

You might want to update your drivers as well, as your videodriver is already FIVE YEARS OLD!

here are the programs that i have installed

@Cathulhu
You will probably laugh at this, but whats the best way to update it? I always ran under the assumption that i had them updated since I have the 'update drivers automatically' option enabled...
The Giving One May 15, 2016 @ 10:24am
Right off the bat..first one in the first link...utorrent.

Then there is CCleaner (if monitoring mode is active)

Then in the second one as many have and have issues with Steam is Skype.

Please do not reply with "I never had any issues with these programs before" or " they don't run and I have disabled them."

If you want to fully troubleshoot this, fully uninstall those programs and then reboot.

Also, make sure Steam is set as real-time exceptions in Avira. I have Avira also and I have added the entire Steam folder to the exceptions list in the settings for Avira. I suggest you make sure you have done the same.
Cathulhu May 15, 2016 @ 10:24am
By downloading the latest drivers from the website of the manufacturer.
For your videocard, nVidia.
For your sound and network, Realtek.

What is this GFI LanGuard? Never heard of it. That may be a possible cause of your problem.
@The Giving One
I doubt µtorrent is a problem, have it myself. Never interfered with anything.

Good catch. I never have either. Could be another possibility of the issue or part of the issue.
@Cathulhu
EDIT..Well, bittorrent/utorrent (all clients) are on the list so I was just trying to be complete here as I am sure you understand. Thanks.

Thank you for the quick responses.
I have unisntalled Skype, CCleaner aswell as Languard.

I'm also in the process of installing the necessary drivers - the videocard one is already updated.
I will keep you updated after the driver update is finished.

EDIT: Also added the steam folder as an exception to avira
