Turning the announcer of on FSX
Hi, I really need help, on the FSX, for example, when I am taxiing and getting close to the runway, the announcer comes and start announcing 'runway 22R ahead, another example, when I am on the runway ready to takeoff, the announcer come starts announcing "runway 22R,flaps" another example, when I am on final, the announcer start announcing "you are to high, flaps etc...." this is very annoying and would like to get rid of, please someone can help

There isn't an option to disable that specific announcement sequence as it is part of the airplane's system. You can however remove the sound files completely. Go into the sound folder and remove it (I'd suggest just moving to a different location so you have it in case you want it again).

Thanks for your reply,

when i go in the sound foulder (G:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\sound) there are there are five foulders (ATC, Lessons, Precip, Thunder, UIMMusic), which of these five folders you are suggesting to move?

No worries.

I don't have FSX installed so cannot tell you exactly but they will be .WAV files and will be named whichever message they are "announcing" (e.g. dont_sink.wav). Upon further investigation it seems you can even just simply rename the files by adding something random to the file name to stop it from working too. You'll just want to remove/move/rename the WAV files themselves that you don't want to hear.

Thanks again for your reply,

I did search all the wave files and folders, and did not allocate the announcements I am getting. I believe this is something in the configuration file, because the announcer recognizes the runway headings (e.g. if you are on runway 33R it will recognize it, if you are on runway 15, then will announce "on runway 15, flaps" it really bugs my mind. Hope you have some answers

Did you buy the RAAS package? It sounds like that is the "announcer" you are speaking of.

I'm not trying to be a smarty pants or anything... but if you lower the flaps, get on the glide slope, maintain the proper airspeed, and remember to put your gear down... I'm pretty sure that the announcer will shut up. ;)
