Free steam keys ?!
Hello

I found some websites doing giveaways on steam keys for free
And i won


So is it legal to use that key ?

BIg red flag there is the word "free". That should make you be wary of the site.

Sure its legal. Either it works or it does not. The worst thing that COULD happen is that the key was bought with a stolen credit card or the payment later reversed. Then the key will be deactivated by Steam and you will lose the game again.
But like already said, that is the worst that could happen.

Not really. There are a lot of sites, most of the time indie shops that give away free keys for games now and then. Indie Gala or Indie Royal for example. Does not have to be something shady. Of course if they give away keys for 60 bucks AAA games then i would be more careful.

Point taken, so thanks friend. Sure there are some that do it legitimately, but then again, we have these other sites that are the root of many of the problems that some users face when trying to get games cheaper or for free.

But thanks again for the clarification here and for helping me and others as well.
